AD100 Inaugural Launch,Shanghai

As the authorized list initiated in 1990 by the American Architectural Digest in the architecture and design industry, “AD100” first landed in China in 2013 to award 100 of the most influential designers in China. It is also AD China’s 2nd anniversary. The event venue is a 100-year old Chinese-styled building, re-designed by the architect Ma Qingyun. Liquid Impact was entrusted with the design, exhibition, production, entertainment and over all management for this event. Our design maintained the beauty of the building itself and reflected AD’s brand image as a contemporary lifestyle and design magazine. In various ways, mirrors, stainless steel and plasma screens were applied in design to add a contemporary and avant-guard feeling to the aged wooden structure. It was a perfect combination of traditional Chinese construction with contemporary interior design. The huge AD100 backdrop with the 100 awards, and the AD100 exhibition expressed AD100 as an authoritative award. Both the tree and piano on the stage along with the performance provided by German artists, Duo Viola, were stunningly beautiful and creative in an artistic way. The event was ended with a shot of almost 100 of the most talented designers on the stage, celebrating the important moment for AD China and architecture and design in China.
